Barbara writes:
“I always get a thrill from this huge bronze Victorian statue outside Westminster tube station, of Boadicea (or more correctly Boudica) and her daughters, exhorting us to greatness. This was the British ‘Warrior Queen’, with knives on her wheels and rearing horses. She defeated the Romans in the first Century AD, but was then defeated herself. She seems to be on top of the London Eye of 2000 (also called the Millennium Wheel) – but actually the River Thames? flows between.”
